Tile for miles

The end is scary close. It would be great if we could have a few days with 30 hours instead of 24. Just a few, please. Still working towards an end-of-the-week deadline. Fingers crossed.

Here's what's happening at the house as we speak...

Another peek

It seems that we may just be at the point where I have to give you bits and pieces of the changes because before long, it will be revealing too much of the finished project. Exciting that we're at t-minus 10 days until we plan to be completely finished with the house!

Kevin has done a great job at staying on schedule and squeezing in extra hours and days when he feels behind. (Did you know you could squeeze extra hours into a day? I need that secret.) But yes, up and at 'em at 5am, working on Sunday. He knows no limits! The man is a machine, I tell ya.

Week Five

Even more updates for you! See, I keep my promises sometimes. Things are starting to come together. We have a completed roof, new siding is up and will soon be painted (all of the siding & trim will match our new garage door), paint is going up on the walls and cabinets have a first coat. We've ordered our carpet, have the granite install scheduled for March 8th, and the countdown is getting close. Kevin is working like a madman to stay on task and he's kicking some major house flipping butt. Love that man!

Can I finish?

Thought you might like to see some of the finishes we've picked out for this project. Basically, we'll be competing with new builds when we pop little this casa on the market. Because of that, we're trying to mimic some of the new build features with our finishes. Going pretty traditional with neutral colors on paint, carpet, and tile. Hardware will be oil rubbed bronze. Because of the price point, we'll do white appliances instead of black or stainless. It should be fine since the cabinets will be white. But, one big upgrade will be the granite. This is not customary in this price range...it's mostly laminate tops everywhere in the area.

Also, last week Kevin got signed up at the Pro desk at Home Depot. We scored 20% off all our paint which is an awesome deal. And the Behr rep even gifted Kevin a sample swatch book of all of their colors. This made my week! It's like crack for me.

My new best friend:

All of the options....so much to choose from!

Week Three/Four

Here's the latest from the flip. I actually should have posted this one last week, so get excited--there will be another update with the most recent pics later this week. This week shows the roof demo, a new garage door, and lots of wall patching and prep inside. Hope you love the progress!

Week Two/Three

Okay, here's week two action, with a little bit of week three thrown in. Right now, we're in the midst of week three/four so hopefully there will be lots of progress coming your way very soon. T-minus three weeks until our original deadline.

Kevin has been busy with demo and has already started the rebuilding progress. This week he's working on drywall...especially in the bathroom areas where we (and by 'we' I mean Kevin) ripped out the circa-1984 light boxes over the bathroom vanities. The drywall will now be flush with a cute new updated light fixture.

Thursday brings the installation of a brand new garage door to replace the rotting wood that's currently in place. Also, you'll see in the pics below that our resident flipper has started taking down the wall that made the garage a rumpus room instead of car keeper.

We've hired a contractor to come replace the roof the house and replace some siding on the back side of the house. Materials are ordered and weather permitting, that job will begin in the next few days. We've been selecting lots of finishes and light fixtures, etc. (my favorite part) so getting daily shipments from UPS and FedEx has been like Christmas! Tomorrow, we're headed to the builders supply to select granite, tile, etc.
