Wow, how behind am I? We had our ultrasound a week ago and I'm just now revealing the exciting results. I blame a crashed computer. That and lack of scanner at the moment. Do you even know how much it pains me to be unable to post the ultrasound pics of our little bundle of joy wiggling around in his first pictures? Pains me. Seriously.
So, for now, you just have to accept the news in written form as I present it to you here. Our little baby is DEFINITELY a boy. And he was not shy about revealing that info to us. Of course, this new bit of info means the fun can definitely begin now. I'm going nuts with anticipation and can't wait to decorate the nursery, buy furniture, and start filling up the house with goodies for our baby B.O.Y.!!
In the meantime, here are a couple of my favorite nursery sets as far as bedding goes. I'm anti- anything typically made for boys so don't expect to see any cars, trucks, footballs, baseballs, or other "boy" friendly things. Blech! We'll probably be going with light blue, limeish/light green, and brown. Ahhh, much better!

By the way, you won't believe the next belly pic. This thing is getting BIG!
Pics to come soon, I promise!!
We're on the move...

Bring on June 25th!!
Kevin and I went in for the 16th week appointment yesterday and everything is still going perfectly so far! The heartbeat has slowed from it's former hummingbird status (thank you, Natasha!) and is now hovering in the 145 range. They finally gave me some medicine to keep from getting sick. (Something I could have been enjoying over the last few weeks if I had just called my doctor like Kevin repeatedly asked me to do.)
One of the medicines was one that they told me would be a little more expensive so I was thinking it might be a hundred bucks or something. Imagine our surprise when we went to the Target pharmacy and it was almost $600!!! I almost passed out right there. Needless to say, I didn't get that one.
We declined the testing for genetic disorders, mostly because I don't want to stress while waiting for the results. The first three months of pregnancy were stressful enough. I need to relax for awhile! Anyway, the ultrasound will detect anything major so we'll pray for a healthy baby and have faith in the process.
Big ultrasound is June 25th -- only 2 short weeks away! I can't wait!!!
In the meantime, another belly pic. I completely forgot to take a 14 week shot, so if you scroll back down to 12 weeks, you can see a big change in the last month! Pretty soon, these pics will be fully clothed, so enjoy the skin while you can. ;-)

Could it be????
Well, after five weeks of non-stop sickness, it appears that week 15 may be a turning point! I haven't felt sick all day and that is really a first. The sickness has been beyond bad.
I don't think any news I have could be as exciting as this...I was beginning to think that it might never go away and that our poor baby would never grow. That, is definitely not the case seeing as none of my clothes are fitting and almost overnight a belly has appeared! It's so weird and hard to get used to. I can't even imagine how much it's going to grow over the next 4 1/2 months.
This is such a cool experience. We go in next Monday for our next appointment. Then, we will set our ultrasound that will tell us if it's a BOY or a GIRL.
The suspense builds....
For this week, a baby growth update:
At around 4 inches long, crown to rump, your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 ounces. He's busy inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid, which will help develop the air sacs in his lungs. His legs are growing longer than his arms now, and he can move all his joints and limbs. That means his hands are more functional, too. Sweat glands are appearing, and although his eyelids are fused shut, he can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, he's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but his taste buds are beginning to form.

Belly, belly and more belly!
Since I have nothing to report (other than some severe "morning" sickness over the past few days), I thought I would delight with some bare belly pictures. Enjoy the diversity of my loungewear. :-)
6 weeks (Still had a waist. It was fun.)
8 weeks (First sign of belly. Unfortunately, it's pregnancy bloat and not baby.)
10 weeks (Bloat goes bye-bye...soon to make an appearance, baby!)
12 weeks (Bring on the baby! I can finally tell a difference. My clothes do not fit!)

Thump, thump, thump!
Today was our 11 1/2 week doctor visit and I'm happy to report that things seem to be going perfectly so far!
We finally got to hear the baby's heartbeat on a doppler which was incredibly cool. And fast too...176 bpm. I think our Fig is running laps or maybe doing some kickboxing (not that I can feel it yet). The uterus is moving up too, which equals baby bump should be making an appearance shortly. I'm ready to look pregnant instead of lumpy, which is what I'm currently sporting.
We go back in another month and then we'll be scheduling our big ultrasound which will hopefully determine whether we are going to be in the pink or blue. Ahhh, the anticipation is killing me.
I don't have any pictures for this post. Just a happy mommy to be that is glad there will be no peeing in a cup for at least another month. Doing that on cue is a little tricky sometimes...

A bean no more...
Our little one is already growing up so much! What once was a bean is now a....FIG! Okay, so I have to admit that I've never even seen a fig before. I had to Google to see what it even looked like. It would be more specific to say that our little one is now around 2 inches long and weighes about 1/4 ounce. Also, he or she is no longer an embryo. Instead, our fig is officially a
fetus!
They grow up so fast....
Here's a pile of figs, in case you're unaware of their size.

Baby's First Picture
I thought I should add our little bean's first picture. Here he/she is at 7 weeks, 4 days. This was our first doctor's appointment and our first chance to see the little heart just chugging away. Amazing!

And bean makes three!!!
Wow! So....just to make it official, I'm pregnant! If you talk to me on any kind of regular basis, this is probably news you've already heard. (Especially since I'll tell anyone who will listen!)
Kevin and I are freaking out with excitement over this news and can't believe it happened so quickly! It was planned, but we thought it might take a few months--guess we were wrong.
As of yesterday, I'm 10 weeks along on a 40-week journey. We got our BFP (big fat positive) at 5 weeks, which I guess means I've been officially pregnant for only 5 short weeks. I have to say it feels like it's been much much longer.
Pregnancy so far has been a roller coaster ride of emotions, cravings and lots
of nausea. I thought Iwas going to be one of the lucky ones who didn't experience
morning sickness. Unfortunately, that was not the case! It's been full force and pretty
constant. I know it's worth it for the end result though, so that (and my saltines)
keep me going.
Anyone that knows me knows I couldn't go through something like this without
making a spot on the internet for it, so this blog is that. Check back often for insane
mother-to-be ramblings that I'm sure will pop up on an almost daily basis. And if you're on this blog, you can also prepare yourself for lots of fun TMI
pictures of my ever-expanding baby bump. Consider yourself warned!
(By the way, the pic above is how we told our parents and family that a baby was on the way. We included this picture of our positive HPT and watched them try to figure out the news. So fun...)
